This year we will be teaching through the book of Hebrews. There is no other book so saturated with Old Testament thoughts, references and passages, and you will find them in every chapter. Hebrews itself is a testament to the need to be familiar with both old and new.
As modern pulpits distance themselves from teaching through the Old Testament, there is no greater reason to teach Hebrews to help the believer see the link between Jewish and Gentile believers, Israel and the church, and the shadow of things to come as personified in our Savior, Jesus Christ.
